Job description

Title: Programs Specialist (Commercial P&C Insurance)

Location: GTA West – Hybrid (1 Day per week in the office)

Responsibilities:

  1. Negotiate terms on new and existing programs
  2. Recommend innovative solutions
  3. Participate in broker visits, insurance industry functions and marketing events in support of broker relationship development
  4. Provide technical advice, recommendations, and mentoring to team members
  5. Work in collaboration with other internal departments including but not limited to actuary, risk control, claims, marketing, business development, and legal
  6. Develop and update program agreements
  7. Oversee the maintenance of programs (renewals, endorsements, etc.)
  8. Research current trends in the industry pertaining to new and existing programs

Qualifications:

  1. CIP obtained, CRM/FCIP is an asset
  2. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in Commercial Underwriting; commercial programs experience is preferred.
  3. Ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with brokers
  4. Able to take initiative and be innovative
  5. Able to negotiate moderately complex situations
  6. Adept at shaping business relations with a view to meeting business and growth objectives
  7. Experience working in a highly competitive sales environment
  8. Client driven with excellent verbal & written communication skills
  9. A high degree of professionalism, tact and discretion
  10. Superior organization skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced dynamic environment
  11. Self-motivated, detail oriented and innovative
  12. Works well individually and as a part of a team
