Job summary

McMan Calgary & Area is hiring a Program Supervisor for the Wellington Reunification Home in Calgary. The role leads a dynamic staff team delivering culturally grounded, around-the-clock support for sibling groups and Indigenous families.

You will work with Elders and Knowledge Keepers to strengthen reunification efforts. Ideal candidates have a Human Services credential, leadership experience, and knowledge of Indigenous practices.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in the Human Services field.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities or experience managing a dynamic team.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous histories, languages, cultural practices, and knowledge systems.
• Direct experience working with Indigenous youth, families and communities.
• Knowledge of the Natural Supports Framework and Trauma Informed Practice.
• Three years’ previous program delivery experience in a similar program environment.
• Experience and knowledge related to High Fidelity Wraparound (asset).
• Ability to hire, train, evaluate, motivate, and develop staff.
• Strong interpersonal skills and adaptability.
• Willingness to work in a 24/7 program with flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Organize and coordinate all program aspects: hiring, training, leadership, supervision of staff.
• Manage community partnerships and financial reporting.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Program Supervisor for our Wellington reunification home. This home is a newer initiative that provides a safe and stable living environment with individualized support and around the clock care for sibling groups. This program will have a strong cultural component, with a focus on strengthening relationships and supporting Indigenous young people and their families toward reunification.

The Supervisor will be a leader who can meet the challenge of leading a dynamic staff team with Indigenous knowledge systems at the center, building vital relationships within Indigenous partners, and have an interest in working in group/family home settings supporting young people and their families.

The Program Supervisor is responsible for organizing and coordinating all general aspects of the program (hiring, training, leadership, supervision of staff, community partnerships, financial management, monthly/quarterly/annual reporting) and supporting the planning and scheduling of Indigenous cultural events, programming and ceremony with Elders and Knowledge Keepers. The Program Supervisor will also ensure that all program goals and objectives are maintained and developed according to contract guidelines, as well as adhering to McMan Calgary values and service delivery framework. The supervisor provides oversight to all service delivery aspects of the program including case management, crisis support, safety planning and intervention services to clients in the program. The Program Supervisor will work with the Program Manager to achieve program and organizational direction and serves as an integral member of the leadership team.

The Successful Candidate Will Have

• A degree/diploma in the Human Services field
• Demonstrated leadership abilities or experience and experience managing a dynamic team utilizing reflective supervision skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of Indigenous people’s unique histories, languages, cultural practices, spiritual beliefs, and knowledge systems
• Direct experience working with Indigenous youth, families and communities is essential
• Knowledge of the Natural Supports Framework and Trauma Informed Practice Framework
• Three years’ previous program delivery experience in a similar program environment
• Experience and knowledge related to High Fidelity Wraparound (an asset)
• The ability to hire, train, evaluate, motivate, mentor, coach and develop a successful staff team
• A good knowledge of community resources and agencies in the sector
• Strong interpersonal skills, adaptability, program planning experience and administrative abilities
• The ability to work a flexible and fast paced schedule that supports a 24/7 program
• Current standard First Aid Certification and Suicide Intervention Training (current within 3 years)
• A Police Background MUST BE Check and Child Intervention Record (IRC) check are also required (MUST BE current within six months)
• A valid Driver’s license and adequate insurance coverage and experience driving a Class 5 vehicle (van)
• This role will require on call support on a rotating basis and some evening and weekend work hours.

Salary Range: $67,159 to $74,621
