Job summary

McMan Calgary & Area is seeking a Family Support Worker for a 12-month contract to join our team. You would deliver In-Home supports, conduct home visits, and collaborate with families on goal planning.

The ideal candidate has a degree or diploma in social services and at least three years of experience with families, including diverse backgrounds, and strong counselling and advocacy skills. A valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and required background checks are essential; the role

Qualifications

  • Completed a Degree or diploma in Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services discipline.
  • Minimum three years of direct experience working with families.
  • Experience with diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Experience supporting at-risk families with complex needs, including domestic violence, mental health challenges, and involvement with Children and Family Services.
  • Strong working knowledge of child development and parenting practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, and supportive counselling skills.
  • Current IRC and Police/Vulnerable Sector Check, and First Aid.

McMan’s Family Development Program is looking for a Family Support Worker for a 12‑month contract opportunity to join our team. As a Family Support Worker, you would be responsible for providing In‑Home Supports through conducting home visits, goal planning with families, providing supportive counselling, advocacy and referrals. The ideal candidate will possess excellent crisis management abilities and be comfortable working independently in the community.

IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Completed a Degree or diploma in Social Work, Psychology, or a related human services discipline.
  • Minimum three years of direct experience working with families.
  • Demonstrated experience working with children and families from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Experience supporting at‑risk families with complex needs, including domestic violence, mental health challenges, and involvement with Children and Family Services.
  • Strong working knowledge of child development and parenting practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship‑building, and supportive counselling skills.
  • Training in Nurturing Parenting Program, Circle of Security Parenting, and/or Triple P is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency with databases, electronic documentation systems, and current technology.
  • Working knowledge and experience using assessment tools.
  • Reliable vehicle and proof of adequate vehicle insurance.
  • Current Child Intervention Record Check (IRC) and Police/Vulnerable Sector Check,and First Aid

*This role will require on call support on a rotating basis, and/or This role will require some evening and weekend work hours.*

Salary Range: $54,193-$60,215
