Job description

Job Responsibilities

1. Oversees the daily operations of licensed childcare programs, ensuring compliance with the BC Child Care Licensing Regulations and Health and Safety standards.
2. Collaborates with leadership and staff to ensure safe, high-quality programming that aligns with the BC Early Learning Framework (ELF).
3. Supports curriculum development, facilitates family engagement, and encourages educator professional development.
4. Manages human resources, including recruitment, orientation, training, performance management, supervision, and staff scheduling. Supports professional development initiatives.
5. Ensures adherence to VSOCC policies and procedures, escalating concerns as necessary.
6. Maintains high-quality indoor and outdoor environments that meet health and safety standards, identifying and reporting repairs and improvements.
7. Works with the Program Director to develop and monitor operational budgets, program finances, records, reports, and procurement of supplies and equipment.
8. Maintains open, respectful, and confidential communication with families, addressing concerns, advocating for children and families, providing resources, and supporting family participation and program events.
9. Fosters positive relationships with community agencies, promotes VSOCC programs, and connects participants and staff to additional resources. Serves as a management team member by overseeing program administration, supporting policy development, coordinating initiatives and events, assisting with collective agreement matters, contributing to strategic planning, and fulfilling additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Basic ECE + Infant and Toddler Certification

Food Safe Level 1

Basic First Aid (formerly OFA)
