About the Role :

The Program Manager supports the work of the YMCA, a leading nonprofit charitable organization committed to strengthening community by creating life-enhancing opportunities for growth and development of all people in spirit, mind, and body. The Program Manager provides effective leadership in the development and management of program delivery, rental services, and facility operations at the Eagle Ridge Community Centre.

The Program Manager is responsible for ensuring the quality and impact of programming to meet community needs. This role focuses on growing programs and services, assessing and improving quality, implementing quality assurance processes, and ensuring compliance with standards and regulations. The Program Manager collaborates with YMCA teams, leadership, and stakeholders to enhance program outcomes and performance.

Responsibilities :
  1. Staff Support and Supervision
  • Recruit, orient, and train staff
  • Supervise staff with guidance and coaching
  • Manage performance cycles
  • Program Management and Oversight
    • Lead program service delivery
    • Engage stakeholders to align programs with community needs
    • Monitor and evaluate program outcomes
    • Adjust programs based on evaluations
    • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement
    • Identify improvement areas and implement best practices
    • Ensure compliance with standards and laws
    • Conduct audits and reviews
    • Promote continuous improvement culture
  • Financial and Resource Management
    • Develop and monitor budgets
    • Review financial statements
    • Assist in forecasting and reporting
  • Facility Management
    • Oversee facility operations
    • Coordinate with Asset team on projects
    • Liaise with municipal partners
    Qualifications :
    • University degree in Recreation, Human Services, or related field
    • 5+ years in community programming and management
    • 3+ years supervising staff
    • Experience in community collaboration and program development
    • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills
    • Proficiency in data analysis and management tools
    Other Requirements :
    • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends
    • On-call responsibilities
    • Valid driver’s license and vehicle access
    Work Environment & Physical Demands :

    Office-based with occasional travel, evening, or weekend work. Physical demands include sitting and walking. Reasonable accommodations available.
