Job summary

City of Edmonton is seeking a visionary Program Manager to lead transformative climate action initiatives within Planning and Environment Services. Qualifications

  • Minimum Undergraduate degree in Environmental Sciences, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Planning, Policy, Business Management, or related discipline.
  • 7+ years of progressive program management experience, including direct supervision of teams and managing multiple scopes of responsibility.
  • Experience across environment, water conservation, waste management, energy conservation/efficiency, clean energy, climate resilience, and/or air quality.

Responsibilities

  • Drive high-impact projects aligned with Edmonton’s Community Energy Transition and Climate Resilience strategies.
  • Manage complex initiatives including the CEIP, climate adaptation planning, energy-efficient buildings, and community investments.
  • Supervise multidisciplinary team and mentor staff, promoting collaboration and excellence in environmental sustainability.
  • Develop Council reports, presentations, and educational materials to raise awareness and drive participation in environmental programs.
