Job summary

The City of Edmonton is seeking a Strategic Systems Analyst to join the Mobility Infrastructure Services (MIS) and help translate field operations data into actionable insights. You will build ETL pipelines, mobile data collection apps, and interactive dashboards to support frontline crews and leadership.

You will design and maintain KPI registries, align metrics with enterprise goals, and collaborate with IT governance and data governance teams to ensure scalable solutions.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Statistics, or a related Engineering/CS field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in business software development, business intelligence analysis, statistics, or software project management.
  • Experience with ETL design, data governance, and dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, and maintain interactive dashboards using Tableau, Power BI, and Looker Studio.
  • Support the MIS Performance Management Framework and KPI registries.
  • Design data pipelines and integrations for diverse data sources.
  • Develop mobile data collection apps and web interfaces (AppSheet, ArcGIS).
  • Respond to information requests from stakeholders and produce data stories.

The Mobility Infrastructure Services (MIS) section within the Parks and Roads Services branch is seeking a collaborative Strategic Systems Analyst to join our Business Performance and Analytics (BPA) Team.Reporting to the Supervisor, Business Performance and Analytics, the Strategic Systems Analyst serves as an embedded technical and analytical partner supporting the Mobility Infrastructure Operations (MIO) unit—including Snow and Ice Control, Spring Sweep, and Reactive Sanitation programs—with additional support across Mobility Infrastructure Services (MIS) priorities as directed.In this dynamic role, you will bridge the gap between complex field operations and enterprise IT systems. You will design, build, and maintain automated ETL data pipelines, custom mobile field applications, and interactive visual dashboards in Tableau.
