WINS operates seven donation-driven Thrift Stores, an Operations Centre with a 12,000 sq ft Donation Center, a bulk thrift store, and an e-commerce business (Twice New). We also run five Program Centers, supporting programs like House to Home, Retail Ready, Warehouse Ready, and five Community Resource Hubs. Funding comes from thrift store revenue, fundraising, and grants.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, deliver, track, and evaluate programs, including participant intake.
- Assist in developing and implementing programs and activities, including recruitment and awareness.
- Research new approaches to family-centered learning activities.
- Ensure a safe and welcoming environment for participants.
- Encourage positive peer relationships among participants.
- Maintain records of participants, attendance, outcomes, and demographics.
- Document and share program highlights and quotes with staff, management, donors, and the board.
- Participate in team exchanges of ideas and practices.
- Engage with external agencies and handle referrals.
- Represent WINS at community events as needed.
- Collaborate with WINS store locations and be on-site when required.
- Ensure program materials are available and coordinate pickups.
- Support donation distribution and logistics.
- Assist with program facilitation at various WINS locations and external agencies.
- Support outreach to past participants.
- Work closely with the Programming Coordinator and team to meet program goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education
- Post-secondary diploma related to community development, social work, or education.
Experience
- At least 3 years in a similar role, preferably in non-profit social programming.
- Experience with cultural diversity and inclusion.
- Partnership experience with non-profit agencies and community programs.
- Facilitation and organization of structured learning activities.
- Experience working with marginalized populations and understanding issues affecting women in crisis or low-income situations.
