Position Overview

We are seeking a Payroll & Compensation Facilitator who would be responsible for administering accurate and timely payroll processing. This includes processing statutory deductions, preparing government filings (e.g., ROEs, T4s), maintaining payroll records, and supporting the administration of employee benefits and compensation. The role requires close coordination with internal departments and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Administration

  • Process full-cycle, bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees using Dayforce.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labour standards, tax legislation, and company policies.
  • Prepare and remit statutory deductions and Receiver General payments.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and prepare related journal entries.
  • Coordinate the administration off-cycle payments and special adjustments with accounting as needed.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files.

Reporting & Compliance

  • Prepare and submit Records of Employment (ROEs), T4s, and year-end summaries in accordance with CRA requirements.
  • Assist in the reconciliation of taxable benefits and employer remittances.
  • Provide payroll data for internal and external audits.
  • Stay current on legislation and best practices impacting payroll and compensation.
  • Track and maintain documentation related to employee leaves, accommodations, and status changes.
  • Help maintain compliance by ensuring timely updates to HR policies and distributing them to employees.

Benefits Administration

  • Track employee eligibility and process enrollments for benefits.
  • Process and reconcile benefits deductions.
  • Coordinate with third-party providers to ensure benefit records and invoices are accurate.
  • Address employee inquiries related to benefits and deductions.

Support & Coordination

  • Liaise with the Accounting department to ensure proper allocation and chargebacks.
  • Support the HR team in implementing compensation changes, bonuses, and retroactive pay.
  • Communicate payroll updates and changes clearly and proactively to employees.
  • Respond to employee inquiries related to payroll, compensation, and benefits in a timely manner.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparation of offer letters, payroll setups, and termination documentation.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or certificate in Payroll Administration, Human Resources, or Accounting.
  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience.
  • Experience with Ceridian Dayforce is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, CRA regulations, and employment standards.
  • Working knowledge of benefit plan administration and taxable benefit reporting.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
