Position Information


Location: Coquitlam Campus

Salary Range: $71,846 - $115,129 annually. Placement on the faculty salary scale is based on education, professional certification, and experience, in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

The Opportunity

This role is responsible for providing leadership and departmental administration for the Medical Office Administration program. Responsibilities include ensuring curriculum compliance with HICA standards by CHIMA, managing department operations such as budget, workload, and student recruitment, consulting with faculty on curriculum and operations, developing partnerships, organizing Program Advisory Committee meetings, and completing reports.

WHAT IT TAKES

Specific Responsibilities:

Planning
  • Manage operational requirements of the MOA program, coordinate registration, enable long-term planning, maintain HICA recognition.
Budget and Staffing
  • Prepare education plans, budgets, and ensure expenditures stay within limits.
Curriculum
  • Coordinate Program Advisory Committee meetings, oversee curriculum development, and ensure program orientation and certification procedures are followed.
Departmental - Faculty Relations
  • Facilitate communication, coordinate faculty development, support faculty evaluation, and promote scholarly activity.
External Liaison
  • Build relationships with external bodies, represent the department, and maintain program promotional materials.

Qualifications:

  • HICA designation or eligible
  • Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, business, or related field
  • Minimum two years in a medical or hospital setting
  • Ability to teach adult learners
  • Knowledge of Canadian healthcare system and legal requirements
  • Organization and project management skills
  • Interpersonal, networking, curriculum development, and self-motivation skills

Additional Information

The position starts September 1, 2025, for an initial one-year term, with potential extension up to three years. Two sections of time release are available for 2025-2026.
