Job summary

Douglas College in New Westminster, BC, is seeking a Program Coordinator, Continuing Education, to oversee administrative processes and support Continuing Education operations. This role supervises staff and delivers client-centred service to internal and external stakeholders.

The position offers hybrid work, transit-accessible campuses, and benefits. The temporary part-time role runs Aug 31 to Dec 12, 2026, with hours to meet operational needs including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

  • Two years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience with Continuing Education health & fitness and youth programming.
  • Supervisory experience including hiring, training and ensuring procedures and deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and perform administrative processes to support Continuing Education operations.
  • Provide supervision to positions that support Continuing Education operations.
  • Ensure compliance with related College policies and department procedures.

Job description

$29.53 per hour (with wage increments to a max of $32.97 per hour). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

The Opportunity

The Program Coordinator, Continuing Education, is the primary point of contact for the operations and coordinates the administrative responsibilities to ensure compliance with related College policies and department procedures. This position coordinates and performs the administrative processes required to support the Continuing Education operations. The Program Coordinator provides supervision to the positions that support the Continuing Education operations. This position reports to the Manager, Athletics and Recreation Operations. This role provides exceptional client-centred service on a consistent basis to all internal and external stakeholder groups.

  • To have successfully completed a two year diploma at a recognized post-secondary institution in a related field; degree preferred.
  • A minimum of two years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Continuing Education health & fitness and youth related programming.
  • Supervisory skills with the ability to hire, train and ensure employees follow procedures and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of course budgeting systems in Continuing Education and accounting and budgeting procedures (i.e. FAST , PeopleAdmin, etc.)

This temporary part-time (17.5 hours per week) position is available starting August 31, 2026. Regular hours of work are scheduled to meet operational demands and will include weekdays, weekends, and occasional evenings. Shift days and times may change depending on the Department’s need.

The position is located at the New Westminster; however, successful candidate must be available to work at all College campuses and satellite locations, i.e. Coquitlam, Anvil, etc. Douglas College is committed to supporting a healthy work/life balance for employees.
