Position Summary

The Baby Depot is seeking a passionate and organized Program Coordinator to oversee the day-to-day operations of The Baby Depot Boutique and support our fundraising efforts. This role combines community engagement and program coordination.

Ideal candidates will have experience in the charitable or social services sector, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and a passion for serving families with care and dignity.

Key Responsibilities

· Overseeing the day-to-day operations of The Baby Depot

· Working alongside volunteers and the Volunteer/ Donations Manager.

· Help support the organization’s efforts to recruit volunteers.

· Provide warm, respectful service to families during boutique visits

· Maintain and update the client database

· Liaise with community partners and referral agencies

· Respond to phone and email inquiries in a timely, professional manner

· Manage and update The Baby Depot’s social media presence

· Create and distribute monthly newsletters

· Purchase and restock boutique supplies and inventory

· Merchandise and maintain the boutique’s appearance to ensure a clean and welcoming space

· Pick up donations from partner agencies

· Assist with donation sorting and processing

· Identify and pursue partnership opportunities

· Organize and support fundraising events and campaigns representing The Baby Depot as needed

Skills and Qualifications

· Strong understanding of or experience in the nonprofit sector, especially related to family support, poverty relief, or children’s services

· Proven experience in fundraising, event planning, or donor engagement

· Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills

· Experience with social media platforms and newsletter creation tools

· Knowledge of retail merchandising is an asset

· A positive, welcoming attitude and ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred (e.g., Nonprofit Management, Social Work, Public Relations, Fundraising, Communications, Marketing, or Business Administration)
  • Relevant experience in lieu of a degree will be considered

Requirements

· Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle (required)

· Ability to commute or relocate reliably to Hamilton, ON (L8L 3A3)

· Fluent in English (required)

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
