Hiring Unit: Ensembles and Conducting Area (Jean-Sébastien Vallée)

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Program Assistant will support the overall administration and coordination of the McGill Camerata.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of the McGill Camerata, a community engagement project part of the Choral Academy.
  • Coordinating logistics for program components, including rehearsals and performances, for the McGill Camerata.
  • Supporting communication efforts such as managing social media accounts, designing posters, drafting publicity materials, and updating web content for the McGill Camerata.
  • Supporting on-site logistics and providing hands-on assistance during choral events related to the McGill Camerata.
Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in social media management and digital communication tools.
  • Attention to detail in preparing, proofreading, and compiling program and event materials.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for coordinating with guest artists, faculty, students, and community members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also taking initiative independently.
  • Flexibility and problem-solving skills to support on-site logistics and respond to event-day needs.
  • Interest in or knowledge of choral music, performing arts, or arts administration.
