Job summary

Boys and Girls Club Okanagan in Lake Country, BC is seeking a part-time Program Area Leader to guide activities at Peter Greer Elementary. You’ll support children's growth through play, creativity, and nurturing relationships while collaborating with a supportive team.

The role offers 20 hours per week, afternoons, with benefits and professional development opportunities. Applicants must meet licensing and safety requirements and be eligible to work in Canada.

Qualifications

  • Diploma, certificate and/or relevant experience working with children in recreation, education or social services.
  • Valid First Aid certificate.
  • 20 Hours Responsible Adult training or willingness to obtain.
  • Class 4 Driver’s Licence or willingness to obtain it immediately.
  • Successful completion of agency screening including a Criminal Record Check.
  • Must be at least 19 years of age as per Provincial Licensing Regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and implements activities and special events for a program.
  • Oversees day-to-day operation of the program to ensure facilities, equipment, guidelines and licensing requirements are met.
  • Makes recommendations to supervisor regarding program development, policy and procedures.
  • Promotes public awareness of the program by producing promotional materials and attending community events.
  • Liaises with community service providers to coordinate service provision and represent the program externally.
  • Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.

  • Liaises with community service providers and other professionals to coordinate service provision, facilitate referrals to the program, and represent the organization or program in external events.
  • Maintains related records and statistics and produces reports as required.
Qualifications:

Additional Information:
  • This position is open to all applicants

Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 2pm to 6pm

Rate of Pay: $19.82 per hour
