Job summary

The Dow Chemical Company is seeking a Production Technician in St. Clair River, Ontario to operate, monitor, and maintain plant equipment for reliable manufacturing. You will work as part of a shift team, applying technical knowledge to optimize production and support safety and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include operating equipment, responding to events, conducting handovers, and training teammates while maintaining rigorous safety standards and adherence to operating discipline.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Willing and able to work a 12 hour rotating shift.
• Willing and able to work overtime as needed.
• Willing and able to respond to emergency situations.
• Canada-based position: must be legally able to work in Canada; no visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Follow Operating Discipline policies, procedures, and standards to ensure safe, reliable and efficient operation of assigned plant areas.
• Operate, inspect, and monitor process equipment, control systems, and KPIs to maintain optimal plant performance.
• Perform scheduled operational activities and respond to unplanned events to support continuous operations.
• Collaborate across shift teams to balance workload, resolve issues, and ensure tasks are completed on time.
• Conduct effective shift handovers to ensure clear communication and operational continuity.
• Maintain qualifications and complete required training while addressing skill gaps.
• Mentor and train operations personnel on process operations and operating discipline practices.
• Support emergency response activities and participate in incident investigations.
• Use plant performance metrics to identify and implement operational improvements.
• Perform autonomous maintenance including minor repairs and preventive maintenance.
