Job summary

MT Talent Solutions in Richmond Hill seeks a Production Team Lead to guide daily operations and support the shift team in meeting production goals. You will coordinate tasks, ensure safety, and maintain quality across the line.

The role offers a day shift (Mon-Fri) with one afternoon rotation monthly, optional overtime, and opportunities for advancement within the function. Benefits and RRSP are included.

Qualifications

  • Must have strong English communication skills and be reliable.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Experience in a heavy industrial environment is required.
  • Overhead Crane certification or willingness to be trained.
  • 3 years’ forklift experience with a valid license.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support employees within the department on a daily basis.
  • Assign and coordinate work to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Train, coach, and support team members, including new hires.
  • Communicate production priorities, safety information, and operational updates.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for day-to-day employee concerns and production issues.
  • Monitor workflow, productivity, and staffing needs to ensure efficient operations.
  • Help resolve production challenges and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Work alongside the team and assist with production tasks as required.
  • Ensure quality standards, work procedures, and customer requirements are consistently followed.
  • Complete and verify required quality inspections and checks.
  • Identify and address quality concerns in partnership with production and quality teams.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and maintain a positive workplace culture.

Production Team Lead

Location: Richmond Hill. Hours: Monday to Friday 5 am – 2:30 pm. 1 afternoon shift rotation per month. Overtime available on Saturdays.

Here’s what we’re looking for and what you will need to succeed:
  • Solid oral and written English communication and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable and team-oriented
  • High regard for safety and adherence to following processes and procedures
  • Ability to follow appropriate departmental work instructions, including health and safety rules and procedures
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Overhead Crane Operator certified, or willing to be trained
  • 3 years’ experience operating forklift and a valid license
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Good co-ordination and manual dexterity
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task and highly organized
  • Ability to handle a heavy workload and work effectively with interruptions and changing priorities
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Familiar with basic Office applications – Word, Excel
  • Completion of high school. Completion of post‑secondary education is an asset but not required.
  • Experience working in a foundry, casting or other heavy industrial environment is required.
  • Ability to complete a criminal background check is required.
