Job summary

ABB Canada is seeking a Procurement Lead to drive a functional team delivering transactional purchasing, e-sourcing, data management and reporting. This role ensures timely delivery and cost efficiency in accordance with ABB procedures, while developing team capabilities.

The on-site position in Quebec requires strong SAP experience and fluency in French and English, with collaboration across stakeholders to optimize cost, quality, delivery and working capital.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience in a similar procurement role.
• Strong SAP experience is mandatory.
• Proficiency in French and English is required.

Responsibilities

• Manages execution and tracking of procurement activities within the team, improving transactional cost.
• Ensures buyers minimize risk by aligning with quality and commercial procedures.
• Applies group guidelines to drive cost, quality, delivery, and working capital improvements (terms, lead times, quantities, inventory).
• Coordinates the implementation, operation, maintenance, and performance of supply chain systems.
• Ensures full utilization of the SAP Ariba platform for supplier info sharing and identifying high-performing suppliers.
• Investigates problems, identifies root causes, and recommends process improvements.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a functional work team to deliver accurate and timely procurement activities like transactional purchasing, e-sourcing, data management, and reporting. Each day, you will ensure execution in accordance with company and Procurement team instructions and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by tracking of procurement activities within the team, while ensuring quality of delivery service at improved transactional cost.

The work model for the role is: on site

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Manages execution and tracking of procurement activities within the team, while ensuring quality of delivery service at improved transactional cost.
• Ensures Buyers minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by buying in accordance with quality and commercial procedures and company guidelines.
• Ensures the accurate application of group guidelines to drive improvement in cost, quality, delivery, and working capital (payment terms, lead times, order quantities, and purchased material inventory).
• Executes the implementation, operation, maintenance, and performance of supply chain systems.
• Secures full utilization of the SAP Ariba platform according to the relevant procedures, both related to sharing supplier information and finding existing high-performing suppliers to ABB.
• Investigates problems, finds root causes, and recommends improvement to existing and planned procurement processes.

Qualifications For The Role

• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
• You have 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Strong SAP experience is a mandatory requirement for this role.
• You are at ease communicating in French and English (Mandatory)
