Job summary

Select Finishing Ltd in Ontario is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee day‑to‑day manufacturing operations, lead a team of technicians, ensure safety, quality, and efficiency, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The role reports to the Production Manager and is a replacement position within a unionized environment.

You will manage production schedules, analyze data for trends, and collaborate with other departments to meet targets.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a unionized manufacturing supervisory role.
• Experience leading manufacturing teams and coordinating with multiple departments.
• Strong focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• WHMIS 2015 training or equivalent safety training provided.

Responsibilities

• Directly manage a team of manufacturing technicians and operators.
• Oversee production processes ensuring quality and timeliness.
• Coordinate with other departments to meet targets.
• Conduct regular safety training and audits.
• Champion process optimization and waste reduction.

Job Purpose

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day‑to‑day operations in the manufacturing area, ensuring effective team management, operational efficiency, quality control, and adherence to safety standards. This role fosters a positive work culture and drives continuous improvement per Select Finishing’s strategic objectives.

Duties

• Team Leadership and Development:
• Directly manage a team of manufacturing technicians and operators, promoting a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
• Facilitate regular team meetings and performance discussions, providing guidance, support, and feedback.
• Develop team members through targeted training programs and career development opportunities.
• Operational Management:
• Oversee production processes to ensure timely execution and quality compliance.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and areas for improvement in efficiency and output.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and meet production targets.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Uphold all company safety protocols, conducting regular safety training and audits.
• Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Implement preventative measures to maintain a safe working environment.
• Process Improvement:
• Champion initiatives aimed at process optimization, waste reduction, and cost‑efficiency.
• Collaborate with the Quality Control team to uphold product standards and address any quality issues.
• Encourage a proactive approach to problem‑solving and innovation within the team.
