Job description

Join to apply for the Production Supervisor role at TalentMinded Inc.

We are a global manufacturer known for innovation, market responsiveness, and growth, and we are looking for a Production Supervisor.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position gives you leadership in assembly and production operations, managing day‑to‑day production, following plant policies, procedures, and processes, and inspiring a team.

Why this role?

In this position, your ability to manage people, processes, and performance will directly impact safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets. You will be the link between strategy and execution, ensuring that assembly operations run efficiently and effectively. Your leadership will drive measurable outcomes that support organizational goals and strengthen overall performance.

You will:
  • Lead a large team. Oversee Line Leaders and Coordinators, with direct responsibility for approximately 40+ full‑time employees. Depending on seasonality, the team may grow to 100–120. Mentor and train teammates, deliver meaningful performance reviews, and ensure health and safety standards are always met.
  • Execute assembly operations. Ensure all assembly work is completed on time with the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDMS). Establish standard work procedures and task matrices, schedule team members and equipment, and recommend labour requirements based on forecasted demand.
  • Collaborate across functions. Work closely with supervisors and cross‑functional departments, ensuring alignment and seamless operations. Partner with health and safety committees to implement improvement initiatives.
  • Balance floor leadership and projects. Spend approximately 75% of your time on the production floor, with 25% dedicated to project work, approvals, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive continuous improvement. Apply Lean and Six Sigma principles to identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities, and optimize performance. Engage the team to suggest and implement improvements in productivity, quality, and efficiency.
  • Ensure optimal performance. Monitor equipment and initiate appropriate action with supporting teams, departments, and vendors to ensure availability and optimized performance.
You bring:
  • The experience. Operations leadership, ideally in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Supervisory experience managing large teams and understanding core manufacturing principles such as metrics management, capacity planning, financial budgeting, labour planning, scheduling, material flow, inventory management, lead time, and waste reduction. Familiarity with health and safety regulations.
  • The technical knowledge. Exposure to Lean Six Sigma methodologies and an understanding of mechanics. Ability to interpret technical drawings is a strong asset.
  • The leadership. Confidence to make thoughtful decisions, ability to build trust with labourers, peers, and senior leadership. Ability to influence and motivate a team, mentor future leaders, and consistently deliver on KPIs.
  • The collaboration. Strong persuasion and relationship‑building skills. Ability to partner with cross‑functional teams and management to ensure shared goals are met.
  • The flexibility. Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with seasonal demands and occasional night shifts during peak production times.
