Job summary

Select Finishing Ltd in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a Team Lead to support the Production Supervisor in delivering quality finishes on schedule while upholding health and safety standards. Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or general labour role (internal promotion or equivalent external experience).
  • Advanced knowledge of finishing processes, including paint applications, inspections, and quality standards.
  • Ability to perform advanced quality checks and ensure compliance with production specifications.
  • Skilled in handling complex rework tasks with precision and efficiency.
  • Strong documentation skills for tracking workflow, quality, and production metrics.
  • Experience in mentoring or training less experienced team members preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure team members have the tools they need (gloves, safety glasses, etc.).
  • Report health and safety concerns to the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure adherence to production guidelines and use proper tools.
  • Understand and align with the daily schedule.
  • Coordinate with forklift driver for bin movement.
  • Maintain area neat and organized.
  • Assist in training new hires on safety, quality, and procedures.
  • Complete inspections and production reports.

Job Purpose

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Team Lead will assist the Production Supervisor in ensuring that quality products are sent to customers on time and to enforce all Health and Safety policies that are set out by Select Finishing. They will work alongside other production personnel with day-to-day production and will support in the direction of fellow employees, the preparation of the area for production, and the completion and collection of reports.

Duties
  • Ensure team members have the tools they need ie: gloves, safety glasses etc.
  • Report all health and safety concerns or incidents to the Production Supervisor.
  • Ensure that employees follow the production guidelines and work instructions in place, and that proper tools are used to complete the job.
  • Understand daily schedule.
  • Notify forklift driver when bins are required to be moved.
  • Report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Keep area neat and organized.
  • Support in the training of new hires (job specific, safety, quality, etc..).
  • Complete all assigned duties.
  • Assist in directing manpower and managing resources effectively to prevent waste.
  • Support team members as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records relating to production.
  • Completes inspections as required and completes production reports.
