The Position

The Production Supervisor oversees daily operations of the production team, focusing on managing production, ensuring quality, maintaining safety, and optimizing processes.

Responsibilities:

1. Lead various production teams.
2. Review program requirements, assess constraints, resolve operational conflicts, and collaborate with production planners for optimal solutions.
3. Communicate production status clearly through various channels.
4. Improve work methods and processes related to production.
5. Advise on resource demands and conflicts.
6. Coach, train, and develop staff skills.
7. Promote team autonomy and efficiency.
8. Perform supervisory duties within specified areas, adhering to collective agreements.
9. Support the entire production team in their duties and programs.
10. Act as back-up to the Production Manager when needed.
11. Interface with leadership on critical issues and participate in strategic initiatives.
12. Train and evaluate employees, providing development feedback.
13. Participate in hiring processes and recommend candidates.

Qualifications/Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Operations/Production Management, Mechanical Engineering, Administration, or related field is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant management or supervision experience, especially in quality, cost, and schedule control.
• Knowledge of space hardware production technologies is an asset.
• Strong understanding of planning tools, ERP systems, and related modules.
• Advanced skills in Excel and interpersonal communication.
• Experience in manufacturing processes and unionized environments is advantageous.

Additional Considerations:

Successful candidates must obtain security clearance at the reliability level and pass assessments for the Controlled Goods Program.
