Job Description

IG Machine & Fibers Ltd., part of the IKO Group, manufactures commercial and residential roofing products. We have a full-time opportunity for a Production Supervisor in Brampton, Ontario.

Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful candidate will focus on producing high-quality products by leading employees, maintaining safety, environmental, and process compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage development, performance, and supervision of shift personnel to ensure quality and productivity
• Plan and manage production scheduling
• Lead in a unionized environment, including discipline and performance management
• Improve processes using lean tools and maintain documentation
• Identify training needs, coach, and motivate employees
• Conduct training, cross-training, and rotation for development
• Ensure safety, production, and quality procedures are followed
• Maintain OSHA safety standards and conduct inspections
• Lead weekly safety, quality, and production meetings
• Evaluate team performance and skills development
• Implement measures to improve methods, equipment, and product quality
• Operate within SOPs and Quality procedures
• Resolve production issues and quality problems
• Report safety near-misses, accidents, and hazards
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Coordinate with other supervisors for consistency
• Perform other duties as assigned

Ideal Candidate

• Post-secondary degree/diploma in industrial technology, engineering, business, or management
• At least 5 years of manufacturing experience, with 3 in supervision; experience in high-speed, continuous process manufacturing is preferred
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Effective communication and analytical skills
• Proven track record of operational improvements and team building
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Proficient in MS Office
• Experience in a unionized environment and knowledge of Workday is an asset

Hours and Expectations

• 12-hour shifts on a modified schedule
• Open availability for shift work, weekends, and overtime
• On-call duties required
