Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, this leadership role is responsible for driving efficiency, enhancing team performance, and achieving departmental objectives. As a Production Supervisor, you will empower employees through coaching, problem-solving, and strategic planning while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and injury-free operations.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Production Supervisor, you will:- Lead and mentor a team of employees, inspiring productivity and engagement to meet and exceed departmental goals.
- Implement and uphold lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, standardized work, TPM improvements, and balanced workflow strategies.
- Monitor production performance, analyze key metrics, and develop corrective action plans to ensure goals are met efficiently.
- Identify and execute process improvement initiatives, targeting cost savings and operational excellence.
- Drive safety standards by enforcing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies, cultivating an injury-free workplace culture.
- Oversee production schedules and quality assurance records to maintain compliance with internal standards and customer requirements.
- Communicate effectively across teams and departments, ensuring alignment on objectives and fostering collaboration.
- Address labor relations, handle grievances, and resolve employee concerns to promote a positive work environment.
- Champion continuous improvement efforts, leveraging tools such as root cause analysis to prevent recurring issues and optimize workflows.
- Develop strategies to meet production output targets, on-time delivery metrics, and quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Adapt to shifting priorities while managing multiple tasks to achieve both short-term and long-term objectives.
Basic Qualifications:
Required Skills:- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in manufacturing or production operations.
- Extensive expertise in lean manufacturing systems, including production planning and quality control systems.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and motivate employees at all levels.
Preferred Competencies:- Associate degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, Engineering, Business, or related technical fields.
- Familiarity with industry tools such as Microsoft Office and ERP systems (e.g., JDE).
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills with a talent for influencing and negotiation.
- A strong aptitude for problem-solving and analytical thinking to address complex operational challenges.
- Experience in the architectural aluminum construction industry is a plus.
