About the Role

Our client, a well-established company in the manufacturing and production industry, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Planning Coordinator to support their operations in Kimberley, Northern Cape. This role is crucial for ensuring that production schedules are efficiently managed and that all necessary resources are available. You will be responsible for assisting the Production Planner in creating schedules, monitoring workflow, and communicating with various departments. The ideal candidate possesses strong organizational skills, a proactive attitude, and a foundational understanding of production processes. This hybrid position allows for a flexible work arrangement, combining on-site tasks with remote administrative and planning duties, ensuring optimal operational flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the creation and maintenance of daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
• Monitor production activities and report on progress, deviations, and potential issues.
• Coordinate with the procurement and warehouse teams to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and components.
• Communicate production schedules and updates to the production floor and relevant stakeholders.
• Help manage inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods, flagging any discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate production records and assist in generating reports.
• Support the Production Planner in analyzing demand forecasts and planning capacity.
• Ensure adherence to production timelines and quality standards.
• Assist in identifying opportunities for process improvements on the production floor.
• Undertake administrative tasks related to production planning and scheduling.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, coordination, or a similar administrative role within a manufacturing setting.
• A relevant qualification in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business Administration is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using ERP systems or production planning software.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
