Job summary

American Iron & Metal (AIM) in Montreal is seeking a production operator to run main equipment, perform quality checks and keep the production line flowing to meet targets. You will work under supervision with a focus on safety and efficiency.

This role requires a GED and 1–3 years of production experience in an industrial setting; strong teamwork, organization, and computer skills are a must. Benefits include vacation, group RRSP, tuition assistance, and steel-toe boots from day one.

Qualifications

• GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience as a production operator.
• At least 2 years in an industrial environment.
• Health and safety conscious.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
• Good communication abilities.
• Comfortable using computer tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a team.
• Forklift competency cards are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting the machine at the start of the shift and report anomalies.
• Proceeding with machine adjustments.
• Ensuring a steady material flow on the production line.
• Monitoring machine operation and parameters.
• Using control panels and notifying supervisors of issues.
• Ensuring product quality meets standards.
• Performing equipment maintenance and site housekeeping.
• Creating work orders in the CMMS.
• Writing reports based on performance indicators.
• Working safely and in compliance with policies.
