Job summary

Frind Estate Winery in West Kelowna, BC, seeks a detail-oriented Production Assistant to support the winery's production team. You will manage records, track production activities, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining safety and efficiency.

Responsibilities include updating work orders, recording winemaking movements, and ensuring documentation is audit-ready. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work varied shifts during peak periods.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Winemaking, Viticulture, Food Science, Agricultural Science, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with data management systems and production tracking software is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and winery production software (e.g., Vintrace).
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical and administrative support for daily winemaking operations.
  • Manage inventory control of bulk wine and packaging materials with accurate records.
  • Enter crush and production work orders and update tracking spreadsheets.
  • Record all winemaking movements and maintain QC records.
  • Report non-conformances to Winemaking and Laboratory teams.
  • Maintain production documents and audit-ready records.
  • Adhere to safety SOPs and company code of conduct.
  • Other duties as required.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Assistant to support our winery production team. In this role, you will provide administrative and operational support by maintaining accurate records, coordinating production activities, managing inventory, ensuring regulatory compliance, and facilitating effective communication to help keep production operations running efficiently.

This position is based at our West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada location at 3725 Boucherie Road.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on technical and administrative support for daily winemaking and production operations.
  • Manage inventory control of bulk wine, winemaking ingredients, and packaging materials, ensuring accurate records and timely updates.
  • Enter crush and production work orders and update any relevant tracking and data analysis spreadsheets
  • Accurately record all winemaking movements, including filtration, bottling, racking, transfers, and other cellar activities, while maintaining complete and up-to-date production documentation and quality control (QC) records.
  • Report non-conformances and quality concerns to the Winemaking and Laboratory teams.
  • Maintain all production documentation, including winemaking databases, bottling records, equipment usage logs, inventory records, and production reports.
  • Ensure production records are organized, accurate, and audit ready at all times.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy work environment by adhering to current WorkSafe best practices and regulations, company safety SOPs, and the company code of conduct.
  • Other duties as required.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Winemaking, Viticulture, Food Science, Agricultural Science, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proficiency with data management systems, production tracking software, and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with winery production software (e.g., Vintrace) is considered an asset.
  • Previous winery cellar experience is an asset.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently and with a team in a fast-paced environment

  • Must be able to work longer and varying hours and a variety of shifts during peak periods including harvest, bottling and disgorging.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
