Job summary

Arterra Wines Canada in Niagara Falls is seeking three temporary General Labour / Winery Hands to start Sept 1, 2026. This seasonal role lasts about three months and offers competitive wages and flexible hours to accommodate harvest.

You will operate a range of bottling and production equipment, maintain product flow, stock materials, and perform routine quality checks while following safety and sanitation procedures.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, packaging, or winery ops is an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude to learn production equipment.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate bottling, packaging, and production equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain smooth flow of production through lines and grape processing.
  • Stock lines with glass, packaging materials, and components.
  • Perform quality inspections and document findings.
  • Assist with line changeovers and equipment prep.
  • Support harvest and peak production activities.
  • Maintain cleanliness of production areas.

This is a seasonal role that is anticipated to last three (3) months subject to business needs.

Role Overview:
  • Operate a variety of wine bottling, packaging, and production equipment safely and efficiently while ensuring quality standards are achieved.
  • Maintain a continuous flow of product to optimize bottling, packaging, and incoming grape processing operations.
  • Ensure production lines are stocked with the appropriate glass, packaging materials, and components to support uninterrupted production runs.
  • Perform routine quality inspections throughout the production process and accurately document findings in accordance with company procedures.
  • Monitor equipment and production processes, identifying and reporting any quality, safety, or operational concerns.
  • Assist with production line changeovers, setup adjustments, and equipment preparation as required.
  • Support grape receiving and handling activities during harvest and peak production periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of production areas, equipment, and workstations.
  • Adhere to all food safety, quality assurance, workplace safety, and standard operating procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and operational objectives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, packaging, food and beverage production, winery operations, or a related environment is considered an asset.
  • Mechanical aptitude and the ability to learn production equipment operation.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to accurately complete inspections and production documentation.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials up to established company requirements.
  • Ability to work in a production environment that may involve varying temperatures, noise, and exposure to winery and packaging operations.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, or extended hours during harvest and peak production periods, as required.

Compensation:
  • Budgeted Range - $18.50/hr. to $25.50/hr. The budgeted range will align with qualifications, including experience, education, training, licenses, certifications, and other business and organizational requirements.
