Job description:

The Product Engineering Supervisor, working in the Technical Design Department, reports directly to the Plant Manager. This full-time position involves remote product support, customer service, and up to 30% travel to customer sites within the U.S. and internationally, often on short notice.

The Supervisor plays a crucial role in:

  1. Technical Development
    • Coordinate with R&D to develop new gas sensors from prototype to final product using a Design-to-Cost approach.
    • Collaborate on embedded code and calibration interface development.
    • Design, test, and refine electronics for sensors and gas analyzers.
    • Work with manufacturing for seamless integration and support.
    • Lead vendor evaluations.
  2. Product Engineering
    • Support design and manufacturing of Nova/TGI product platforms.
    • Maintain product functionality, ensure design integrity, and support next-gen digital platforms.
  3. Customer & Product Support
    • Provide remote and on-site technical support globally.
    • Collaborate with Sales for technical solutions.
  4. Team Leadership & Project Management
    • Supervise and mentor the technical design team.
    • Manage engineering tasks and complex projects.
  5. Additional Responsibilities
    • Participate in leadership and strategic planning.
    • Foster a collaborative engineering culture.
Competencies:

Key Requirements:
  • Lead efforts to stabilize TGIR and SGIR sensors.
  • Finalize TGPPM sensor design and installation.
  • Revise and optimize embedded code for various systems.
  • Collaborate with external contractors on embedded code and system integration.
  • Support electronics, sensor troubleshooting, and IT in production.
  • Maximize capabilities of the WH display platform.
  • Assist project teams in testing and development.
  • Develop universal sensor platform architecture.
  • Develop autonomous analyzers capable of self-assessment.
  • Own and modify existing code for platform stability.
  • Travel for field support and customer issue resolution.
  • Deep knowledge of analog circuitry, troubleshooting, PWM/PID control, C++, microcontroller development, industrial instrumentation, PCB design, and support tools.
Position-specific abilities:
  • Bachelor's in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation, or related Engineering field.
  • Lead sensor development projects.
  • Provide remote and on-site support for installations and service.
  • Work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Develop device integration software.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies.
  • Work independently and remotely with resilience.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Document work thoroughly.
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring, troubleshooting, and industrial equipment design.
  • Willing to work overtime and travel domestically and internationally.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
