Job summary

Niagara Casinos is seeking a Second Cook to join our kitchen team. The role involves preparing all dishes from raw to finished state, rotating through all stations, and maintaining high cleanliness standards.

You will work in a fast-paced casino dining environment, contributing to exceptional guest service. The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of la carte cooking experience, proficiency with grills and fryers, and holds a Basic Food Preparation certificate along with a Food Safe Handling

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a la carte cooking.
• Experience using grills, deep fryer, stove and flat top.
• Certificate in Basic Food Preparation.
• Food Safe Handling Certificate.
• Good knife handling skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Exceptional communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Rotate and work in all stations of the kitchen.
• Prepare all dishes from raw to finished state.
• Rotate stock, receive orders and store product.
• Adhere to strict cleanliness standards.
• Work as one team under stressful conditions during high volume periods.
• Stand and walk for extended periods; move equipment as needed.
• Follow OH&S policies and legislation.
• Be aware of promotions and activities at casino properties.
• Support a 24/7 operation as needed.

• Working as one team under stressful conditions during high volume business levels
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, move equipment and other items as needed
• Working safely, and in compliance with OH&S policies and legislation
• Thorough knowledge of all activities and promotions occurring at our casino properties
• Flexibility to support a 24/7 operation
