Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto, is looking for a Procurement Manager proficient in preparing contractual agreements using current company templates. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in Role:

1. Forecast, plan, and accurately assess needs for goods and services to project stock levels, manage budgets, and prepare reports.
2. Liaise with suppliers and follow up regarding delivery times.
3. Network and negotiate with suppliers to ensure favorable prices and access to the best costs. Research new suppliers.
4. Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, including review of tenders.
5. Follow market trends.
6. Analyze contracts to ensure compliance with company policies.
7. Liaise with internal business partners and external suppliers.
8. Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and pricing for the company.

Must-Have Skills:

• 2-4 years of experience with contracting best practices, business decision-making, in a Contract Specialist role with increasing scope of responsibility.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Contract Management, Procurement, Legal experience and/or certification.
• Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., iValua, Coupa, Ariba, etc.).
• Finance and budgeting experience.
• Experience working in a financial institution.
• Familiarity with Professional Services and IT services.

Soft Skills Required:

• Experience in Contract Reviewing and Creation.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to thrive in a high-volume environment.

Education:

Post-secondary degree or certification in logistics, business administration, law, purchasing, supply chain management, or equivalent work experience.
