Summary

The NPI Sourcing Assistant Manager's primary responsibility is to support the supplier development department in developing and implementing new parts for the assigned PE system (Motor, Reducer, Inverter, ICCU) assembly projects.

The role involves collaborating with suppliers to ensure that the parts they develop meet the required quality standards, are delivered on time, and meet the company's cost targets.

The NPI Sourcing Assistant Manager must have a deep understanding of the assigned PE system, including its components and interactions, along with expertise in manufacturing processes used by suppliers to identify areas for cost reduction and quality improvement.

Strong communication and project management skills are essential to keep stakeholders informed and ensure project success. The Assistant Manager works closely with the supplier development department to ensure timely development and delivery of parts, and to resolve issues promptly. Ultimately, this role is critical to the success of the supplier development department and the overall PE system assembly project, ensuring parts meet quality standards, are delivered on time, and support the company's cost objectives.

About MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC

MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain LLC (MNAe) is a Tier 1 supplier of BSA and PE systems, vital components for electric vehicle production, utilizing state-of-the-art manufacturing technology related to battery system assembly.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with part development and implementation for assigned projects with suppliers and other departments.
  • Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and execute tactical tasks for each project.
  • Provide management with oversight and reports on critical project tasks.
  • Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal/external customers.
  • Communicate regularly with upper management, including HQ, regarding project status and obtain guidance/approval as needed.

Supplier Management

  • Assist suppliers in meeting quality requirements during projects.
  • Respond to supply shortages related to supplier issues.
  • Conduct value engineering for cost savings.
  • Propose ECRs for cost reduction, quality improvement, and lean production.
  • Collect and summarize documents from suppliers and support HQ, Sales, and Customer requests.
  • Manage supplier ISIR reviews and quality audits.
  • Perform other assigned tasks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • At least 5+ years of experience in supplier development or supply quality.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Fluent in Korean and English (speaking and writing).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills.

Additional Experience

  • Experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes (stamping, forging, welding, die-casting, machining, electronics, assembly, material flow).
  • Ability to interpret 2D/3D drawings and familiarity with design tools.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Over 5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply quality.

Working Conditions

  • Office environment with some walking between buildings.
  • Overtime as needed.
  • Frequent domestic and international travel, with possible overnight stays.
  • Participation in all supplier development work groups as needed.

Travel Requirement: Domestic and international travel required.
