Job summary

Jacobs in Ottawa is seeking a Process Mechanical Engineer to work on water and wastewater projects across Canada. You will join a core team of engineers and designers on studies, designs, and field assignments to deliver innovative solutions for clients.

The role requires a P.Eng. license in Ontario, a bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering, and at least 6 years of experience in municipal water/wastewater.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field required.
• P.Eng. license in Ontario required.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive process mechanical engineering and project delivery experience with municipal water/wastewater projects.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Evaluate process equipment, pumping systems, pipe materials, and valves.
• Evaluate mechanical systems to determine best approaches for client challenges.
• Communicate complex problems and solutions with clients.
• Plan and design full-scale treatment systems and plant improvements for construction.
• Develop facility layouts and P&IDs; create construction documents and specs.
• Perform data analysis and hydraulic modeling; write technical reports.
• Support bidding, permitting, and construction services; conduct field inspections.
