Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to support a diverse portfolio of projects across Canada, including water, transportation, and industrial facilities. The role offers mentorship of EITs and opportunities to lead design work while coordinating with architects and BIM/CAD teams.

You will participate in technical spec development, analysis, and shop drawing reviews, with hybrid work options and a clear path toward professional licensure and career growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Structural Engineering
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation, registered and in good standing with PEO, EGBC, or APEGA, or eligible for registration in the province corresponding to the selected office location
• 10+ years of applicable experience in working as a licensed structural engineer in design of water/wastewater projects
• Strong communication and technical writing skills
• Experience with structural analysis software (i.e., STAAD, RAM, ETABS, SAP2000, Visual Analysis, etc.)
• Experience with all aspects of building engineering design, including phases spanning from preliminary design through to construction

Responsibilities

• Develop technical specifications, plans, elevations, sections and details for structural projects
• Mentor and train intermediate engineers and Engineers in Training (EIT)
• Lead on large, complex projects with engineering design, reporting, analysis and calculations
• Coordinate with architects and other discipline engineers in progression of design
• Provide direction and markups to BIM/CAD designers to develop BIM and drawing sets
• Participate in client or contractor meetings and support Contract Administration during construction through shop drawing reviews, RFIs and site visits
