Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Burnaby seeks a Senior Wastewater Process Engineer to lead design and delivery of municipal and industrial wastewater projects across Western Canada. You will model processes, prepare reports, and mentor junior engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires a BC-registered P.Eng. or eligibility, 10–12 years of experience, and the ability to travel to local sites. A hybrid work model and collaboration focus are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset).
• 10–12 years of relevant wastewater process engineering experience.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in British Columbia or eligibility to obtain.
• Ability to travel to local project sites (driver’s license in BC is an asset).
• Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
• Experience with process modelling tools (BioWin, GPS‑X or Sumo).
• Demonstrated experience supporting project management activities, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams, schedule and budget tracking, and client communication.
• Ability to support delivery of projects through various phases, with an understanding of scope, risk, and change management principles.
• Strong communication, stakeholder coordination, and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the process design of wastewater treatment facilities across design phases.
• Perform process modelling, mass balances, and hydraulic calculations.
• Develop technical reports, specifications, and design documentation.
• Participate in pilot testing, process optimization, and troubleshooting activities.
• Collaborate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers.
