Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Junior Water/Wastewater Designer to support our Ottawa water/wastewater treatment team. You will apply 3D modeling and CAD-BIM tools to deliver drawings and sketches, coordinate with engineers, and support preparation of construction packages for water infrastructure.

You will work primarily from home with a requirement to visit the Ottawa office twice weekly, and occasional travel for client or site meetings.

Qualifications

• College or university education in a technical field or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of experience delivering municipal water/wastewater infrastructure projects; co-op/internship considered an asset.
• Proficiency with modeling software including Autodesk Revit, MicroStation, and 2D AutoCAD.
• Proficient with Windows software such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams.
• Positive attitude, dependable, able to work independently or in a team to meet deadlines.
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and organizational skills.
• Experience with Navisworks or Bentley Navigator is an asset.
• Experience with process piping design and mechanical equipment selection is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare construction package drawings for Water/Wastewater treatment infrastructure and related systems using CAD-BIM tools.
• Coordinate designs with engineers and other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
• Take responsibility for portions of design scope, budget, and schedule; support work in other offices as needed.
• Support project teams with modelling, drawing production, and design reviews.
