The Process Engineer will implement World Class Manufacturing (WCM) projects, production and processing methods, and controls to meet customer quality standards in alignment with CertainTeed Gypsum's Vision, Mission, Values, and Objectives (VMVO). Utilizing WCM principles, this position will focus on product formulation, process development and optimization, equipment design and optimization, general project engineering, and trial planning and execution.
- Analyzes process variations; develops solutions and implements corrective actions using advanced statistical tools to identify and resolve root causes of variations, and participates in resolving critical process and product problems with customers and vendors.
- Designs and develops new process systems, revises existing processes, and develops and coordinates project implementation to enhance plant profitability.
- Collaborates with the team for operational troubleshooting, process improvement projects, production material requirements, raw material availability, and Quality Step Zero requirements. Uses WCM tools and philosophies to analyze data and prepare diagrams and flowcharts for efficient equipment operation.
- Engages with consultants and suppliers to determine system and product compatibility for process improvements.
- Develops and promotes innovative processes and equipment concepts, including follow-through for Return on Investment (ROI), patents, and proprietary intellectual property.
- Analyzes operational problems, develops solutions, and leads corrective action implementation.
- Organizes and initiates run trials to evaluate equipment, process, and raw material opportunities.
- Ensures the integrity of the Bill of Materials (BOM), including usage and deviations analysis.

What do you bring?
- Bachelor’s Degree in chemical engineering, chemistry, or similar discipline; or five (5) years of equivalent training and experience with comprehensive knowledge of process control technology practices, procedures, and regulations.
- Five to ten (5-10) years of professional process experience in manufacturing.
- Two to three (2-3) years of experience in project management and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience with product formulation, water and foam chemistries, mass & energy balance, flow diagrams, P&ID, fluid properties, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency with advanced statistical tools for variation reduction.
- Flexible, open-minded team player with excellent communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills for effective teamwork.
- Leadership and innovation capabilities at all organizational levels.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
