Position Summary

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Product and Process Development, the Product and Process Engineer will focus on delivering sustainable and breakthrough improvements to manufacturing operations. Responsibilities include driving TPM, LEAN, and OEE methodologies across a multi-plant network, with a focus on process reliability, plant capacity, waste elimination, planned maintenance, and building the capability of plant personnel. The engineer is part of the Continuous Improvement framework, developing and implementing world-class manufacturing standards within plants and across common technology platforms, and reports to plant managers in a matrix organization.

Key Accountabilities
  • Lead to deliver significant improvements in manufacturing system reliability, optimizing throughput, production rates, yield, costs, and changeover times.
  • Identify and eliminate waste across product, package, and process dimensions, improving manufacturing layouts and product flows within lines and across plants.
  • Drive root cause problem solving and develop manufacturing standards to ensure sustainable plant performance, including training and qualification of equipment operators.
  • Build technical mastery and partnerships with equipment designers and machine suppliers to deliver cost-efficient production processes and improved standards for equipment operators.
  • Lead the start-up of new equipment and processes, including acceptance testing, commissioning, qualification, and performance-based training.
  • Collaborate across departments such as Operations, QA, H&S, Finance, and HR to achieve superior results.
Requirements
  • 1-3 years of manufacturing experience; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering.
  • Experience with LEAN, TPM, and process reliability/OEE methodologies.
  • Proven ability in root cause analysis, waste elimination, equipment breakdown reduction, and training others.
  • Strong communication skills and team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel within Canada, especially in Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan.
