Job summary

Imperial Oil invites applications for an Engineering Intern in Sarnia. You will join the Process Control team within Refinery and Chemicals operations, gaining hands-on exposure to day-to-day and long-term process control initiatives under a dedicated mentor.

This role supports safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant operations while contributing to major projects reviews. You will work with a matrix of teams, developing and maintaining process control applications and assisting with

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Control Engineering from a Canadian Accredited University.
University Engineering student available for a work term beginning in May 2027.
Currently enrolled in a University Engineering program and returning to full-time studies after the work term.

Responsibilities

Support identifying, implementing, and maintaining basic process control applications.
Assist with day-to-day monitoring and support for existing applications on process units.
Develop new applications and maintain the performance of existing ones.
Support software/database requirements and review designs for process control systems with Major Projects Teams.
