Job summary

Imperial in Canada is seeking an Engineering Intern to join the Process Control team within the Refinery and Chemicals operations in Sarnia, ON. You will support day-to-day operations, work with integrated teams, and help implement basic process control applications under a mentor.

This 12 or 16 month work term begins May 2027 for a Bachelor’s student in Chemical or Process Control Engineering, with emphasis on leadership, safety, and returning to full-time studies after the term.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Control Engineering from a Canadian Accredited University
• University Engineering student available for a work term beginning in May 2027
• Currently enrolled in a University Engineering program and returning to full-time studies after the work term
• Demonstrated leadership and strong academic skills
• A valid driver’s license and safe driving record are required

What Role You Will Play in Our Team

As an Engineering Intern, you will support our Process Control team within the Refinery and Chemicals operations. You will work closely with integrated teams to support day-to-day operations and long-term initiatives, ensuring safe, reliable, and environmentally compliant operations. You will also be paired with a Mentor to support the Major Projects Teams to review designs and implement process control systems.

Your Benefits
The expected annual salary range for this position is $63,600.00 - $82,320.00. Individual pay will be determined based on various factors, which may include skills, abilities, qualifications, work experience, and education.
