Job summary

Medicine Hat Public School Division is seeking a dedicated Custodian for the evening shift at Ecole Connaught School in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The role runs 3:30 PM–11:30 PM, Monday to Friday, 40 hours weekly, and includes full-time, unionized employment with CUPE.

Job Posting: Custodian (Evening Shift – Full -Time, 8 Hours/Day)

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and dependable Custodian to join our team and help maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming school environment. As a custodian, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational mission of our school by ensuring our facilities are clean, secure, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities:

What We're Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 6 months of custodial or building maintenance experience preferred
• Valid WHMIS certification
• Working knowledge of cleaning procedures, tools, and safety regulations
• Ability to operate custodial equipment (e.g., auto scrubbers, vacuums, floor burnishers)
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook)
• Strong organizational, communication, and people skills
• A demonstrated ability to work efficiently and effectively
• Physically capable of lifting, bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
• The successful applicant will be required to provide a police information check with vulnerable sector as well as complete job specific pre-employment testing as a condition of the job offer.
