Job summary

CPABC Vancouver Chapter is seeking a Privacy Program Specialist to support the Privacy Office in compliance and risk management related to FOIPPA and CASL. The role covers collection, use, disclosure, retention, and destruction of personal information.

Reporting to the Privacy Officer, you will assist with privacy incidents, training, assessments, and documentation while collaborating across CPABC teams to strengthen privacy practices and policies for students and members.

Qualifications

• Exposure to privacy, compliance, or regulatory requirements.
• Experience with privacy or compliance is an asset.
• Knowledge of FOIPPA/Privacy legislation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day operations of the Privacy Office, including inbox management and admin duties.
• Assist with privacy incidents containment and investigation.
• Support privacy training and awareness initiatives.
• Assist in privacy impact assessments (low to moderate complexity).
• Maintain CPABC’s records management system for the privacy team.
• Maintain Personal Information Directory and update privacy documentation.
• Monitor changes in privacy laws (BC, Canada, internationally).
• Research privacy trends and industry best practices.
• Support reviews to ensure compliant collection, use, disclosure, retention, and destruction of information.
