Reporting to the Director of Maintenance, the Maintenance Attendant is responsible for repairing and maintaining the hotel's appliances and equipment in working condition. In addition to inspecting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on the equipment, the Maintenance Attendant must respond to customer service calls. They are required to perform a wide variety of repairs and maintenance tasks, including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, painting, HVAC maintenance, and masonry (but not limited to these tasks). They must also report any major repairs necessary to their supervisor, remain available for any other required tasks, and adhere to the department's policies, procedures, and standards, as well as workplace safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on equipment and systems such as plumbing, electricity, air conditioning, heating, security systems, etc.
  • Repair and resolve technical malfunctions and issues reported by guests or detected during regular inspections.
  • Carry out minor renovation work such as painting, wall repairs, floor covering installation, etc.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of kitchen equipment, appliances, and sanitary installations.
  • Monitor and maintain ventilation and air filtration systems to ensure optimal air quality.
  • Manage maintenance requests and assigned tasks through the maintenance tracking system.
  • Coordinate with other hotel departments to minimize disruptions during maintenance work.
  • Adhere to safety standards and regulations while performing maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain an appropriate inventory of spare parts and supplies required for maintenance work.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and best practices in maintenance.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum one year of experience in technical maintenance and/or renovation.
  • Professional degree in building mechanics or related field (an asset).
  • Ability to work in confined spaces for extended periods and lift loads up to 50 kg.
  • Ability to communicate in both French and English.
  • Essential qualities: courtesy, autonomy, discretion, endurance, and attention to detail.
  • Availability required for variable hours, including mandatory weekends.
