Job summary

Germain Hôtels in Calgary seeks a Maintenance Attendant/Technician to support a small team and respond to guest maintenance requests, ensuring a safe, comfortable stay for every guest.

You will perform visual inspections, preventive maintenance, interior and exterior tasks, minor electrical work, and report defects, while adhering to manuals, codes, and health and safety standards; the role includes moving materials and assisting with equipment upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or college diploma in mechanical building technology; asset.
• In good physical condition, able to lift up to 100 pounds and perform labour-intensive duties.
• Experience in building maintenance is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual inspection of equipment and systems.
• Actively participate in preventive building maintenance procedures.
• Perform daily maintenance work and reflect activities in the schedule.
• Carry out interior and exterior maintenance work on the building.
• Report defective systems and implement corrective actions.
• Possibility of gathering materials outside the property as needed.
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing objects, including stairs and ramps.
• Maintain all mechanical components of the building under supervision.
• Perform minor electrical work (e.g., changing light bulbs).
• Follow service manuals during maintenance, repairs, or replacements and adhere to safety standards.

Job description

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be part of a small team of maintenance attendants and technicians, responsible for responding to guest maintenance requests of the hotel.

What You'll Do

• Proceed to visual inspection of the equipment
• Actively participate in preventive building maintenance procedures
• Perform daily maintenance work and reflect their activities in their schedule
• Perform interior and exterior work
• Report any defective systems and make the necessary corrections
• Possibility of gathering materiel outside the property
• Assist with moving, lifting, carrying, and placing of objects by move up and down stairs, service ramps, and/or ladder
• Responsible for maintaining all mechanical component of the building under the supervision of the maintenance supervisor
• Proceed to minor electrical work (ex: light bulbs change)
• Ensure that service manuals are follow during preventive maintenance, repair or replacement of systems or components and adhere to sound engineering practices, building codes and health & safety precautions

What You'll Bring

• Experience in building maintenance
• High school Diploma or College diploma in mechanical technic of a building or an equivalent is an asset
• In good physical condition, capable of handling heavy materials and perform labour intensive duties, move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 100 pounds without assistance
