Oak View Group (OVG) in Calgary is seeking a Premium Bartender at Spruce Meadows. You will serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintain a professional, guest-first demeanor, and work in a fast-paced events-driven environment. Pro Serve certification and AGCO compliance are required.

This part-time role pays $15.00 CAD per hour and is tip eligible, with pension matching. Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays is needed. The position remains open through December 31, 2026.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of alcohol service experience in a restaurant, premium hospitality, or event venue setting.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine and other beverages.
• Pro Serve Certification required.
• Excellent communication, multitasking and guest service skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet company standards for guest service and teamwork.
• Follow bar pre-shift notes and menus.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following AGCO/ProServe regulations.
• Upsell beers, wines and spirits to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly.
• Check guest IDs to verify age.
• Communicate cut-offs when required.
• Respond to guest requests and escalate to management when needed.

Position Summary

The Premium Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need. This role requires Pro Serve certification and full compliance with AGCO alcohol service regulations , as well as strong communication and multitasking skills. A polished, professional demeanor and guest-first attitude are essential.

This role pays an hourly rate of $15.00 CAD and is tip eligible.

Spruce Meadows is South Calgary's leading Sports and Entertainment District, located on the border of Southwest Calgary. Responsibilities

• Demonstrate the ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
• Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks under AGCO and ProServe regulations pertaining to the service of alcohol.
• Responsible to learn or have knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and be able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check the guest's ID in accordance with regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
• Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns.
• Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making.
• Request additional product or restock product as required.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation at all times. Ensures bar equipment is clean & well maintained.
• Other duties as assigned, such as setup and breakdown of bar equipment as required and assisting with organization of the cooler, liquor cages, and dry storage areas.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of alcohol service experience in a restaurant, premium hospitality, or event venue setting.
• Strong classic cocktail, wine, and beverage knowledge.
• Demonstrated experience in premium customer service and guest interaction.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Professional appearance and positive, team-first attitude.
• Must hold a valid Pro Serve Certification.
• Comfortable working on your feet for extended periods.
• Ability to work in an indoor/outdoor environment.
• Available to work an event-driven schedule , including evenings, weekends, and holidays .
