Job summary

SGS is seeking a skilled Machinist (Journeyman or Apprentice) to join our Edmonton manufacturing team. You will operate and maintain precision machinery to produce components per detailed specs, ensuring safety and continuous improvement.

Journeyman certification or Alberta apprenticeship is preferred. Proficiency with CNC and manual tools, blueprints, and precision measurement is essential for this role.

Qualifications

• Journeyman certification or active Alberta apprenticeship for the role.
• Proficiency with CNC and manual machine tools is required.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC and manual machine tools to manufacture components.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specs for accuracy.
• Measure parts with calipers, micrometers and gauges to verify tolerances.
• Set up machines, select tools, adjust speeds/feeds for efficiency.
• Document production activities and quality results accurately.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and follow safety protocols.
