Job summary

Cascades in Toronto is seeking a Pre-Press Mac Operator to join our Rexdale team and help ensure print readiness of artwork for high-quality packaging. You will create, modify, and reformat files to meet press specifications, perform trapping and prepress tasks, and support flexographic printing in a fast-paced production environment.

You will collaborate with production, art, and film departments, manage multiple projects with tight deadlines, and leverage Mac and Adobe Creative Suite expertise

Qualifications

• College or University degree in Graphic Arts, Package Design, or a related field.
• Experience or training in graphic design, packaging design, or pre-press production.
• Strong proficiency with Mac operating systems and Adobe Creative Suite applications.
• Working knowledge of PC operating systems and software.
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of Esko software, flexographic printing, corrugated packaging, or flexo plate making is considered an asset.
• French communication skills are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Pre-flight and review customer-supplied artwork and graphic files for print readiness.
• Create, modify, and reformat graphic files to meet print specifications and press requirements.
• Perform trapping, prepress adjustments, image manipulation, and file preparation activities.
• Support flexographic printing processes and ensure files are optimized for production.
• Collaborate with production, art, and film departments to ensure quality standards are met.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Maintain exceptional attention to detail and perform additional duties as assigned.
