This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a PR Vice President, Health based in Canada.

As Vice President, Health, you will lead the strategic direction, client relationships, and business performance of a healthcare public relations practice.

You will oversee communications programs for organizations across biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, hospitals, digital health, and consumer wellness.

Combining senior-level client leadership with commercial ownership, you will drive retention, account expansion, and new business development.

You will guide a team of healthcare communications professionals, strengthening delivery standards, coaching talent, and building a high-performing practice.

You will also develop innovative, data-driven service offerings that connect earned media intelligence with regulatory monitoring and healthcare stakeholder engagement.

Working in a fast-paced, fully remote environment, you will collaborate across disciplines while representing the practice at industry events and in professional publications.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a healthcare communications expert who can translate strategic vision into measurable client and business outcomes.

Accountabilities

You will own the performance and development of the healthcare PR practice, balancing client satisfaction, team leadership, commercial growth, and strategic communications delivery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Define the strategic direction and provide leadership for healthcare and lifestyle communications initiatives.
  • Own the account management rhythm across the existing client portfolio, including structured weekly business reviews, account health scoring, and proactive risk identification.
  • Drive client retention and satisfaction through high-quality service delivery, rapid time-to-value for new accounts, and structured account recovery initiatives when needed.
  • Develop and execute at least five recurring account expansion initiatives, targeting sustained monthly recurring revenue growth of approximately 1.5–2%.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the healthcare communications team, providing senior-level coaching, recruiting selectively, and maintaining accountability for delivery quality.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior healthcare clients, serving as a strategic advisor and primary point of contact.
  • Develop tailored PR and communications strategies based on client objectives, audience needs, market insights, and industry developments.
  • Oversee integrated campaigns covering media relations, thought leadership, executive visibility, and crisis communications.
  • Build and maintain relationships with influential healthcare journalists, trade publications, clinical media, and consumer outlets to secure high-impact coverage.
  • Position clients as industry leaders through strategic content, speaking opportunities, conferences, and relevant industry events.
  • Develop a productized healthcare service offering leveraging media intelligence and data capabilities, including competitive intelligence, regulatory media monitoring, key opinion leader targeting, and payer narrative tracking.
  • Drive new business development in partnership with commercial teams, targeting organizations in biotech, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, hospitals and health systems, digital health, and consumer wellness.
  • Own practice-level commercial performance, including gross revenue retention, net revenue retention, and account expansion.
  • Monitor campaign and account performance, using data and measurable outcomes to guide optimization and continuous improvement.
  • Represent the healthcare practice externally through industry events, healthcare publications, and thought leadership in healthcare communications.
Requirements

The ideal candidate is an accomplished healthcare communications leader with substantial experience managing complex client relationships, developing high-performing teams, and delivering measurable commercial results. You should combine deep industry expertise with strategic thinking, operational discipline, and a strong understanding of data-driven communications.
