Job summary

Capital Power in Canada is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead the Plant Operations and Maintenance team. You will oversee safe, reliable, and efficient execution of the plant’s operations and maintenance activities, reporting to the Plant Manager.

You will provide technical leadership, manage outages, coordinate contractors, and drive continuous improvement to optimize asset health and production performance across a gas-fired plant environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Journeyperson Trade Certification or Power Engineering Certification, combined with applicable operations and maintenance leadership experience, will also be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership, supervision, and performance management of the Plant Technicians, including staffing and scheduling.
• Develop and execute operations and maintenance work plans aligned with plant objectives.
• Lead day-to-day coordination of plant operations and maintenance to achieve production, availability, and reliability targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory and company requirements; support inspections and audits.
• Lead incident reporting, investigations, and root cause analyses; implement corrective actions.
• Oversee O&M Training Program and ensure qualifications and ongoing training requirements are met.
• Develop and improve operating and maintenance procedures and reporting processes.
• Lead preventive, predictive, corrective, and outage maintenance programs and CMMS utilization.
