Job summary

Capital Power is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead the Plant Operations and Maintenance team and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant performance. Reporting to the Plant Manager, you will oversee outages, work management, contractor activity, and adherence to regulatory and company requirements.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in engineering, 5+ years in power generation operations and maintenance, and experience leading unionized teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process, or related Engineering discipline; Journeyperson Trade Certification or Power Engineering Certification considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct leadership, supervision, and performance management of Plant Technicians, including staffing, scheduling, training, coaching, employee development, and day-to-day administration.
• Develop and execute operations and maintenance work plans and priorities to support plant objectives.
• Lead day-to-day coordination of plant operations and maintenance activities to safely and efficiently meet production targets.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and company requirements; support inspections and audits.
• Oversee maintenance outages, scope development, planning, contractor coordination, and closeout activities.
• Manage maintenance contracts and contractor activities, including procurement support and contractor performance.
