Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. operates as a carbon-neutral leader in sustainable protein across North America. This role supports a 12-hour rotating shift pattern with a 4-week cycle between day and night shifts, focusing on food safety and high performance in a bustling plant environment.

You will maintain steam generation and refrigeration systems, participate in equipment repairs, and interact with inspection and safety departments while upholding HACCP, WHMIS, and MSDS requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold Refrigeration Operator Class B License or higher.
• 3rd class stationary engineer certificate preferred.
• Experience with ammonia cooling and compressed air systems.
• Experience with boilers and steam.
• Able to work shifts on 24 hours/7 day week.
• Self-directed and detail-oriented team player.
• Full set of personal/professional hand tools for Food Safety program.
• Able to read and write English.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, test, and log all steam generating requirements by operation code.
• Maintain, monitor, and check all refrigeration equipment to TSSA standards.
• Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations.
• Interface with Contractual and Inspection Departments for corrective or legal requirements.
• Process work requests and apply corrective measures using computerized maintenance system.
• Support the department to meet targets while maintaining safety and health standards.
• Read and communicate effectively with teammates and supervisors.
